The L Word book
Watched all your L Word DVDs so much you know all the lines? Jennifer Beals is giving all the fans something new – a book! Beals spent six years documenting the cast and crew and it’s now available for all of us. Kate Moennig in a bra? Check. Laurel Holloman’s pregnant belly? Yup. Beals said of the book, “It was an era of my life I was eager to preserve: I wanted to remember the cast, the read-throughs, the dinners, the rehearsals — everything. I took pictures and saved my scripts, call sheets, and memos and organized them every year…mostly, I wanted to remember the joy, because no matter where the storylines went, we always managed to have fun.” The book is set to be released this month, though it may be pushed back to January. Stay tuned!
Lohan’s ménage à trois
Whoa! Lindsay Lohan has done quite the risqué shoot for Mode magazine. The shoot is said to be an expression of Kate Moss and Johnny Depp’s relationship. “She was playing the role of Kate Moss -- you're at a party and you are with a guy you really love and another girl," said photographer Yu Tsai. She went on to say, "There was never a discussion about pushing the boundaries. She was totally comfortable with the nudity as long as it had artistic integrity. When you see her nipple, it just happened in the moment." Check out that moment and others in the forthcoming edition of Mode.
Venice premieres
The much anticipated launch of the new web series, Venice, has been released. Venice stars Emmy Award winning actress Crystal Chappell, who also co-created and co-wrote the series with long time friend and writer Kim Turrisi. The series was created after Crystal Chappell received such an overwhelming response to her character on the long running US day-time soap opera Guiding Light. The now famously known ‘Otalia’ storyline followed the love story of two single mums who fell in love in a small town despite all the odds against them. Although these two women were clearly in love, the CBS network would not allow the drama series show a kiss scene. And thanks to that bad decision, we have Venice!

Trans teen sues McD’s
McDonald’s, we’re so not loving this. A MTF trans teenager who claims she was denied a job by McDonald's (twice!) is suing the fast food chain for discrimination. Florida resident Zikerria Bellamy, 17, claims she was left an offensive voicemail by a manager at the Orlando restaurant which said, "We do not hire faggots." Bellamy began living as a girl at the age of 11 and is being supported in her case by the Transgender Legal Defence and Education Fund (TLDEF). Federal law offers no job protection for trans people and 38 states do not offer legal protection, though trans people are protected by the Florida Civil Rights Act’s prohibitions on sex and disability discrimination. The lawsuit continues…
